Well here it is, the Frontline Developments Abingdon Edition, a reinvented MGB Roadster with all the the old school charm of the original but with all new Japanese underpinnings that give it the same power-to-weight as a V12 Vantage. What’s it like? Well, think of it as a lovely Sunday Roast at your favourite rural gastro-pub, but with dollops of wasabi hidden under the Yorkshire and sake in the gravy … possibly. Actually, forget that; that sounds disgusting; this thing was lovely. However, as you will see, the elephant in the room is the price tag and this seems to be the main thread of the comments that have been left by the 30k or so viewers that have watched this feature so far. All we can say is that Frontline’s order books are very healthy and up close this car was flawless; for us, this is Britain’s answer to the restomodded Teutonic Singer but at just 8% of the cost. Make your own mind up and enjoy the video.
