Last summer, as regular MotorPunk readers might remember, we embarked on an epic French road trip to rediscover some forgotten historic race venues. Rich argued that if we were going to try and follow in the tyre tacks of motorsport greats, such as Fangio, Moss, Ascari and others, then we’d need a motor with some real racing pedigree. I agreed, and said I’d leave it with him; if he could blag some decent transport then I’d sort out the snacks. Two weeks later, as I ambled up his driveway laden with splitting Lidl carrier bags … well I couldn’t quite believe what had appeared on his driveway.

We did write some short features about the films that we eventually shot with Carfection as they were released, but I don’t think some MotorPunk readers quite realised that there were three in the series; and nearly a year later they’ve all got burried under our weekly guff and nonsense. So for those that might have missed it, here’s a reminder of those amazing automotive adventures and that fabulous Maserati Quattroporte GTS.

Great little films guys. Never knew about that chapel in the woods, and I stop at Reims most years. Must check out Charade next summer. Good work.
